Get Your Ass Back Up

Sometimes life can come upon us when we are down and kick us in the teeth. At this point we are left with a couple choices. Either we can lay there and lick our wounds or we can get back up and do something about it. We can succumb to hardship or we can persevere through it all and become stronger individuals in the end. I have always chosen perseverance.
Often when you find success in any endeavor, folks will assume it came easy for you. It is not always going to be recognized how hard you had to work to achieve your goals. Sometimes, nobody is going to take the time to pat you on the back and tell you “Job well done”. No matter how much it hurts to not be recognized for your efforts and success, you just need to dig in your heels and stay the course and not give in and thus compromise yourself.
I promote certain ideas for health and wellness through intermittent fasting high protein low carb living and a specific style of weight training. These ideas come from a lot of research coupled with trial and error along the way over several years. I know that what I promote works for me and it can work for others, while I also recognize it is not the only way towards health and wellness. After all, I was a runner who thrived on calisthenics during my military years more than being a weight trainer. Serving in a Navy helicopter SpecWar Support Combat Search and Rescue squadron required a top level of physical fitness for the mission. The discipline that came from a military career has served me well through life, but I still have had to persevere through rough times much the same as anyone else in my journey towards a life time commitment of health and wellness. I never let bad times hold me down for very long ever. The personal discipline to take care of yourself is something we all possess. It is a tool in our arsenal to be finely honed and polished to get us through bad times. Personal discipline is what gives us a sense of perseverance.
