In full transparency the following is a nice little life lesson I found on my life long friend Jimi’s Facebook page this morning. The actual author is unknown to me, but the words rang so true in my mind that I felt they needed to be shared with as many as possible. This short parable addresses what we have within ourselves, I hope it makes you stop and consider how you react to ouside influences in your life.
You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you, making you spill your coffee everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee? You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup. Had there been tea in your cup, you would have spilled tea.
The point is that what ever is inside the cup, is what spills out. Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which will happen) whatever is inside you will come out
It is easy to fake it, until you get rattled. So we have to ask ouselves, “What is in my cup?” When life gets tough, what spills out? Joy, gratefeulness, peace and humility? Or, does anger, bitterness, harsh words and reactions come out?
Today, lets work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation, kindness, gentleness and love for others.

Remember, how we react or act towards life circumstances is a direct reflection of our own health and wellness. A healthy mind is a peaceful mind.
