PB2 Performance Peanut Protein Review

Being a connoisseur of fine peanut butters such as Jiff, Skippy, and Peter Pan, I was honestly appalled when I first heard about PB2 and their new powdered peanut butter. To be honest, the thought of powdered peanut butter sounded like a sacrilege, a total blasphemy against peanut butter. But then curiosity got me, and I just had to try it. I have been hooked ever since. I love the versatility of powdered peanut butter, and for a couple of years now, have made it a point to almost always add a couple tablespoons to my daily chocolate protein shakes for the added flavor and protein. So, when I saw that the folks at PB2 now have a protein drink, I just had to try it. At $19.99 for the container at my local Dillon’s store, I could not leave the store without this product.

Don’t compromise taste for Performance! PB2 Performance Peanut Protein is packed with all of your functional needs and tastes great. A clean label, complete plant-based protein that is naturally flavored and has zero added sugar. Never settle for less than great taste and food that fuels you! (PB2 Website)

If you like peanuts, you are sure to like this protein. It has the great taste of roasted peanuts, blended with a touch of Dutch cocoa for a quite pleasing flavor profile. I love that unlike other protein drinks on the market, this one does not have an overbearing sweetness to it. It tastes like peanuts and cocoa, and nothing more other than the milk or whatever medium you choose to mix it with. There is no sugar or other artificial sweeteners in this protein, it is actually sweetened with all natural inulin and monk fruit which makes it compatible for diabetics.

PB2 Peanut Protein provides 190 calories per serving with only 5 grams of fat, a whopping 8 grams of prebiotic fiber which brings the net carbs down to 9 grams total. The 20 grams of protein bring a full profile of all 9 essential amino acids which we need for important processes such as tissue growth, energy production, immune function and nutrient absorption.

This stuff is as healthy for you as it is delicious!

As it is a clean and delicious protein source, PB2 Performance is ideal for women and men, young and old. PB2 Performance can be your meal replacement drink for weight loss or can become your protein shake to help build lean muscle and support recovery. (PB2 Website)

As with their standard PB2, I see this protein powder as being a versatile ingredient that I will add to my Kodiak Protein Pancake mix the next time I make them. I will also add a scoop or two to my next bowl of oatmeal which I already make with a mixture of hemp, chia and flax seed trilogy, along with pumpkin seeds, Saigon cinnamon and chopped pecans.

I definitely recommend you give this product a try, it will now be a regular purchase for me.

If it is Kosher, you will enjoy it if you like roasted peanuts. It’s good to hear from you Dolly!

      1. It doesn’t have Kosher certification, but it still might be. I have sent an enquiry to one of the certification authorities.
I love peanuts, David, and I can see how it would work in cookies or even Pad Thai.
