Weight Loss Supplements are a Waste

Advertisements

Weight loss supplements are a complete and total waste of your hard earned money my friends. If losing weight was as easy as taking a pill, or swallowing a drink, there would never be a reason for any of us to be obese ever again. Yet, everywhere we turn, we are bombarded with advertisements for these supplements. Good lord, just how many people really believe they can lose 10 to 20 pounds per month and still be healthy?

How can people be so foolish to buy into this nonsense?

People buy into this nonsense because they want a quick and simple fix to a long term problem. Please note, there are no quick and simple fixes for obesity. Meanwhile, unscrupulous marketers continue to make billions of dollars a year from these so-called quick weight loss supplements. Sadly, their market keeps growing and growing with each passing year. These marketers rely on an endless supply of suckers being ready to handover their hard earned money by the fist full every day. Don’t be a sucker!

Marketers of weight loss supplements make unreal and unhealthy promises!

A few weight loss supplements might lead to some weight loss, but this is rarely sustainable. Yet marketers of weight loss supplements keep promising us a more attractive and slimmer body in a very short period of time. Have you ever known of anyone who kept their weight off with a supplement? Probably not.

In the U.S. alone, consumers spend $33 billion each year on weight loss products, services and programs. Yet, the obesity epidemic across the country continues to expand faster than some of our waist lines.

The results of rapid weight loss, almost always vanish pretty quickly. This is  often because the individual dieter has the wrong mindset about actual weight management. Losing unwanted body fat requires a change of thinking. You must accept the only true way to success is a permanent change of life style. That lifestyle must be one that revolves around personal accountability to self and healthy living. There are no shortcuts!

Health implications from weight loss supplements and rapid weight loss.

Rapid weight loss creates physical demands on the body. Possible serious risks include:

Other less serious side effects from rapid weight loss are:

Before laying down your hard earned cash on weight loss supplements, you need to know the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does regulate dietary supplements; however, it treats them like foods rather than medications.  Whether it lives up to the manufactures claims or not is irrelevant to them.

The FDA also does not regulate claims made by over-the-counter weight loss products. Unlike drug manufacturers, the makers of  supplements don’t have to show their products are safe or effective before selling them on the market. This means that dietary supplements do not need approval from FDA before they are marketed.

Your weight loss supplement may cause you bodily harm!

Just because you see a supplement product on a store shelf does not mean it is safe. Even riskier to your health would be some of the supplements from multilevel marketers your family or friends might be selling.  The Food and Drug Administration has received numerous reports of harm associated with the use of weight loss supplements, including increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, stroke, seizure and death.

If you are using or considering using any product marketed as a weight loss supplement, you should do the following:
