Christmas is over as of yesterday, with New Years Day coming this Saturday, are thinking about becoming a new you? You might as well since many commercial weight loss programs are rolling out their new programs now too. What better time is there to get fit and lean than when the gyms are overcrowded with the New Years resolution crowd; and the latest and greatest in diet programs are rolling out their new plans and foods to tempt you with…
Would you believe that bogus diet products and programs rank No. 1 among health care scams reported to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), accounting for more than a third of such complaints in 2020? With the New Year New Me crowd, there is an overabundance scammers who are out to pluck every last cent out of your pockets as they can – and it is no coincidence these scammers become quite prolific on social media with their ads. These scammers utilize social media sources to post bogus stories – or quietly pay “influencers” – to promote unproven products, as did one Florida outfit that sold more than $15 million worth of supposedly slimming teas before it was shut down by the FTC in March 2020.
Just Don’t Do It!
Do not allow yourself to get sucked into “free” trial offers either. These scams can do damage to your wallet, because they often come with big hidden charges listed in the small print that you are sure to miss. You can easily find yourself unwittingly enrolled in costly subscription plans which are often almost impossible to free yourself from. If you sign up for monthly orders, the bill for them might come due all at once, along with charges for items you didn’t ask for. Marketers may offer no-risk, money-back guarantees, but the FTC warns that unsatisfied consumers will find it almost impossible to cancel or get a refund.

Weight loss is a multi-billion dollar per year industry, which depends on the New Year New You crowd to keep their coffers full. Even some of the most well known and respected weight loss businesses find it necessary to create new plans each year to attract new business. These businesses will tell you that as they learn more and more about nutrition and weight loss, it is necessary to change their programs fairly often. This is no more than a marketing campaign such as the fitness industry has used over the years to sell new fitness equipment. Trainers will tell you that you have to change your routines in order to keep making progress – but that is not the real reason for change. The real reason for change is that fitness gets hard, and it gets boring. Changing up your programming is to keep you interested – it is the same thing when a “diet” company changes their plans. They want to keep you hooked as a perpetual income stream. They know that 95% of dieters will have failed before they even get through their first year.

If you are serious about wanting a new you for the new year through good healthy nutrition and weight loss, then what you need is consistency. At David’s Way to Health and Fitness, our message always has been, and always will be consistent.
You must create a new lifestyle for a new you.
If you want to lose weight in a healthy manner- and to keep it off- this means that you have to be 100% committed to a lifestyle change for the better. If you are not 100% committed, you are 100% guaranteed of failure. Our message does not change, nor will we ever sugar coat it for you. I would much rather give you an uncomfortable truth than a comfortable lie about what it is going to require of you.
Healthy weight loss is going to require healthy eating for the rest of your life.
Period!
Another point we are consistent about is that healthy weight loss is about much more than how you appear. You can be beautiful at any size, but you can’t be healthy at just any size. We are not about aesthetics. This is about disease prevention, especially diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease, which are particularly associated with obesity.
We believe that everyone has the right to be healthy regardless of their financial status.
Everything here on the website is free.
You should never have to pay for the simple truth about how to lose weight. It’s not rocket science. While many entities make a lot of money dispensing information concerning weight loss, the way to lose weight is so simple that we believe that it’s an unalienable right to have free access to these basic truths. The truth should not be available only to those who can afford it. We’re here to help you manage your weight and live a healthy and full life through good nutritional practices and physical fitness. ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR MEDICAL DOCTOR BEFORE BEGINNING ANY WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM. We do not offer any medical advice or treatment of any kind. We DO NOT offer any advice concerning medical diets.
At David’s Way, we take a holistic, whole body approach to weight loss and management. David and Brenda Sue are both AFPA certified Nutritional/Wellness Consultants who emphasize living a healthy, nutritionally sound and sustainable lifestyle. David’s Way is a healthy nutrition and active lifestyle based on years of personal experience and scientific research. Our methodology involves the consumption of a high protein, low carbohydrate, nutritionally sound and diabetic friendly diet. Our numerous dessert recipes are all sugar free and can be enjoyed by anyone without having the concerns of blood sugar or insulin spikes. Nor will our desserts cause you any cravings such as you would get from treats made with sugar.
At David’s Way we don’t tell you what to eat so much as we tell you what not to eat. This is no weight loss gimmick, this simple plan is how our mothers, grandmothers and generations past used to feed us. It is simply a matter of using portion control when consuming healthy, whole foods, while avoiding foods that are not nutritionally sound. In other words, do not consume anything that does not provide you a nutritional benefit.
For all the details of what we promote, our “FREE PLAN” can be found on our home page under David’s Way Plan.
Healthy weight loss and then the subsequent weight maintenance needs to come from intrinsic motivation my friends. It needs to come from your heart, not from outside sources. With intrinsic motivation you will find yourself more successful in accomplishing consistent, long-term weight loss because it comes from inside you, instead of an outside influence. Intrinsically motivated individuals look at maintaining their physical health as a continuous lifestyle habit and understand that permanent results take time. They focus more on progress vs. a time-sensitive, designated goal. They allow themselves to enjoy every step of the way, even when the journey becomes arduous.
If you ask me how long this will take, I will tell you; the rest of your life.
