OYO Personal Gym Review, Can I Sell You a Bridge?

I created a new series titled “Worthless Fitness Equipment” with the sole intent of helping people to avoid spending their hard earned cash on pieces of junk that will allegedly help them to build a fitter and trimmer body. If you are a serous fitness buff, you already know that these contraptions are worth about as much as a bucket of sail boat fuel, but these items are not being marketed to you. These pieces of junk are being marketed to those who are lacking in knowledge of physical fitness. These marketing schemers are solely interested in their profits above all and could not care less about the health and fitness of their consumer market. If they did care, they would create items that have actual utility.

They are taking their customers for fools!

No, you are not going to transform your body with this piece of junk in only “minutes a day”!

Please, when you see anything that tells you that you can transform your body in only minutes a day, by all means, avoid it. Physical fitness, requires dedication that spans a far greater divide than “minutes a day”. Physical fitness requires dedication to a new lifestyle that involves a good amount of effort and time coupled with good nutritional habits. “Minutes a day” are not going to get you there unless you are some type of genetic outlier. If you believe this contraption can get you into the best shape of your life, I have a bridge to sell you. The only problem is my integrity will not allow me to let it go…

It looks like you can use OYO about anywhere!

Do any of the people above appear to be getting even a small amount of a decent workout?

Real People, Real Results?

I can guarantee you, if the gentleman above is driving a golf ball another 30 yards, it is because he is working on his stroke out on the course.

They claim Andy lost 17 pounds and 14 inches and that Dave lost 19 pounds and 23 inches. These claims are an outright insult to the intelligence for anyone who can think. These two gentlemen may have lost weight while using the OYO gym contraption, but the most important aspect can be found in the small print, their weight loss was through diet.

I have never heard of any mathematical formula to figure how many inches you might lose for each pound of body weight, but it appears these crooks are working numbers in some manner for your consumption. I want to put this into perspective, when I was at my largest and strongest as a power lifter, I was 70 pounds heavier than I am now. Because the excess weight was beginning to take a toll on my health despite being stronger than I had ever been in my life, I dropped those 70 extra pounds, and only took about 12 inches off my my torso. At the ages of these two gentlemen, if they had lost all those inches as claimed, you can bet they would have visible loose skin.

Yes, resistance training will do what they claim below;

However, you are not going to be accomplishing much of the above with this thing, especially once you have discovered for yourself it is not all it is cracked up to be and it winds up gathering dust in the back corner of a closet.

Of course they give you a number of exercises to do;

But, the reality is, almost all of these exercises they tell you about can be done with your body weight only as they are little more than calisthenic exercises with a bit of expensive resistance added for effect.

They have another option that will cost you about $125 too!

The bottom line is your money can be better spent on a pair of light dumbbells for a fraction of the cost.  The OYO gives you the option of either squeezing the thing together in different fashions, or pulling the lines apart. You will find that with limited movements, you are likely to at best, develop muscle and strength imbalances, especially if you only use it for “minutes a day” as they state. It would take you several hours to actually get a good workout with this if you want to actually improve your body in both looks and fitness. I have to say, every time I see advertisements pop up for this, all I can think is it appears someone added some resistance lines to an old Thigh Master they found in the trash somewhere.

Here is a simple truth for you. Having a healthy body that is physically fit requires healthy nutrition and good exercise that actually benefits your entire body instead of isolated portions if you are only into working out “minutes a day”. Vibro Shape Slimming Belt Review, Do They Think We are Stupid?

Oh God, please make it stop. I feel as if I lost IQ points just stumbling upon this worthless product!

What they promise

Vibro Shape Belt to lose weight

Vibro shape is a AB toning system which uses a unique oscillating massage action to tone up specific body parts – waist and abs, hips, buns, thighs, arms and other problem areas. It is a smart and easy way to get the body you want without effort and in the comfort of your own home. Vibro Shape has dual motors and is an upsell for Vibro Belt. The Vibro-Shape Belt is a professional vibrating belt conceived to efficiently tone parts of the body including abs, thighs, butts, calves, and shoulders. This belt makes use of a distinct oscillating massage move for improving blood circulation whereby detoxifying and reducing weight. Fat deposits are broken down and water retention if any is eliminated. Its integrated heat feature is great for relieving your calf, leg, and back muscles. Get the benefit of a complete exercise session but without actually working hard. This slimming waist belt is designed to easily fit waist sizes in the range of 24 – 55 and comes with 5 high power and 5 low power options to choose from. Since the belt includes a carrying case, you can carry it anywhere easily while its universal adapter lets you charge it wherever you are.

Their target customer

Face it, anyone who understands physical fitness and what it takes in order to become fit and trim already knows what it takes in order to achieve these objectives. This product is targeted towards those who have little understanding of physiology and nutrition and might also be the proverbial couch potato who puts little to no effort into anything other than trips to graze in the kitchen.

You cannot spot tone or spot reduce problem areas on your body!

These hucksters promise that you can spot tone areas as you can see in their advertisement; tone up specific body parts – waist and abs, hips, buns, thighs, arms and other problem areas.  Targeted fat loss, often referred to as spot reduction, is not possible and there is absolutely no scientific evidence to suggest that you can burn fat on specific areas of your body. Building strong abdominal muscles will never give you 6-pack abs if those muscles are hiding behind body fat. It is not possible to reduce fat in one area by exercising that body part alone. Muscle growth in a region does not reduce fat in that region. Instead, fat is lost from the entire body as a result of diet and regular exercise. Anyone who tells you otherwise are either ignorant of the facts, or a bold faced liar. This is the truth!

Weight loss and toning takes planning and effort. It is not always easy!

They sell you on this being a smart and easy way to get the body you want without effort and in the comfort of your own home. No, there is nothing smart about this product, it is designed to those who want to only exert minimum effort at getting a better body. If your health and your body are not worth a little effort, save your money or throw it my way. Smart weight loss and toning require effort on your part. You have to have your nutrition under control by eating only wholesome foods. You have to burn more calories than you consume in order to lose body fat. You cannot continue to sit on the couch, watching television while eating ice cream and think you are going to get a better body with this worthless device.

This belt will not detoxify your body, and water loss is not body fat loss!

They claim this belt makes use of a distinct oscillating massage move for improving blood circulation whereby detoxifying and reducing weight. Fat deposits are broken down and water retention if any is eliminated.

Your liver, kidneys, and sweat glands are the primary players in your body’s ongoing effort to remove toxins and waste products naturally. You might find articles that make claims that you can detox through sweating, however, what you lose through your sweat glands is insignificant to that which you lose through your liver and kidneys. It’s up to your kidneys to filter your blood for the waste products your body doesn’t need. Drinking more fluids — especially water — ensures that your body is working to eliminate as many toxins through your urine as it needs to each day.

Get the benefit of a complete exercise session but without actually working hard.

The bold red line is straight from their advertisement. If you believe that you can get the same benefit from this worthless piece of junk as you can from a complete exercise session, you might actually deserve to be parted from your money.

Please, do not ever buy into anything so ridiculous, you are better and smarter than this!

Activ5 Fitness Package Review

I’m seriously thinking about creating a section on my website that would be dedicated entirely to worthless fitness equipment. There are tons of places where you can find great home workout equipment, but how many are there who will tell those new to the idea of physical fitness what to not waste their hard earned money on? Have you ever heard the old adage;

A fool and his money are soon parted.

If you have considered incorporating physical fitness into your lifestyle, this of course would be a wise decision on your part, you are not a fool. The problem is, there are a multitude of unscrupulous business people who see you as a gullible fool. They would not market worthless contraptions if they were not extracting money from the pockets of hard working people, now would they? I have no problem with businesses making good profits for worthy products and or services. My problem only lies with modern day “Snake Oil” salesmen who will take complete advantage of those who may not know any better.

Damn, just look at that add. For $109.90 US you can get everything you need to “start building real strength in a few minutes a day”. You are going to do this with their phone stand and the contraption that will be linked to your phone. They claim this is the “ideal way to get started”!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Simply put, you are going to squeeze the contraption between the palms of your hands for an isometric hold.

From the Activ5 website:

Using your max power as a baseline, the Activ5 training app will dynamically creates a “coaching curve” for each exercise.

Your goal is to apply just enough pressure, while holding the described pose, to keep the dot on the line. Apply more or less force to move the dot up and down.

Please, do not feel the need to buy a high dollar device for isometric holds. If you feel compelled to do isometric holds with an object, there should be plenty of items you could find around your home such as a deck of cards, a small ball etc…

Do not believe this lie!

From Activ5 website:

Get great results in a fraction of the time

All you need is 5 minutes, your Activ5 and your phone to see and feel a difference.

Want to look great?

Build confidence and get the look you’ve been dreaming of.

 Build lean, toned muscle by using your own body as the resistance
 Strengthen the weak muscles that cause poor posture
 Finish your workouts with Activ5 to promote maximum muscle growth

I do not want you to think isometric exercises are bad, to the contrary they can be helpful. What I am opposed to is an unscrupulous business selling you a worthless device to do them with for far too much money.

In case you do not know what isometric exercises are:

Isometric exercises are when you contract a particular muscle or group of muscles. During isometric exercises, the muscle doesn’t noticeably change length and the affected joint doesn’t move. You contract your muscles and then hold that contraction for a period of time. Isometric exercises can help to build and maintain strength, but not so effectively. If you are going to exercise at all, I always preach that you need to make the best use of your time.

Because isometric exercises are done in one position without movement, they’ll improve strength in only one particular position. It is necessary  to do a variety of isometric exercises through your limb’s whole range of motion to improve muscle strength across the range. In addition, since isometric exercises are done in a static position, they won’t help improve speed or athletic performance. They can be useful for enhancing stabilization, but not much else. You are not going to find yourself going from being overweight and out of shape to being fit and trim unless you are diligent about your nutritional habits first and foremost.  I believe that once you come to the realization that your money could have been better spent, you will find this contraption to be boring. Before you plunk down your dough on the Activ5, go to the wall and press against it for a few sets. You will find it’s kind of like standing in the corner during elementary school. You must enjoy something to maintain consistency at it, and it is only a few who could truly say they enjoy Isometric exercises.
