Brown 85% lean ground turkey and weigh out 3 ounces after it’s browned. Add chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin and salt to taste. Add 1 teaspoon of corn starch to 1/3 cup of water and stir until smooth. Add this cornstarch mixture to the turkey and stir over medium heat until water is absorbed.
Spoon over 2 cups washed and chopped romaine hearts.
Drizzle with 2 Tablespoons of smooth taco sauce. BAM! Craving killed for little to nothing!
The 85% ground turkey gives this salad a kick. It really satisfies. You can also get industrious and add fresh garlic and onions instead of the powder if you like for little to no difference in caloric values. Wash the romaine heart, chop off the end and the top and use the center. It’s perfect for a crunchy salad. Use the top for sandwiches.
